Allison Rain was born at 10:26 a.m. on Tuesday, March 24. She weighed 8 pounds and 10 ounces and was 20 ½ inches long. I was 39 weeks exactly, and it was also exactly 2 weeks after the first time I tried to have her.

I am so sorry. I'm sorry that I was young and stupid and didn't know to do my own research and ask questions and believe in my body. I'm sorry that I could have done so much better and it didn't even occur to me to try.

Stephen and I did a pretty shoddy job of telling sugabeats about Benjamin’s birth story. We kept getting distracted and it came out in bits and pieces, a lot of it more emotionally driven about our frustration with the way things turned out than the actual facts that she was looking to hear.
